Family Camp

Come as a “family” – or come and BE family!

Special Feature for Friday and Saturday: “American Christians as Global Citizens” with Bob and Alice Evans, founders of Plowshares Institute.

More than 25 years ago the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Evans and Alice Frazer Evans initiated the Plowshares Institute, which works for social change by building a more just and peaceful global community. To do this Bob and Alice design and lead programs around the world. In China, Plowshares trains leaders in consensus building and sustainable development. In Indonesia, Plowshares, working with the Center for Empowering Reconciliation and Peace and the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, has equipped some 3,600 leaders to transform conflict, promote democratic participation, and protect human rights. The Institute is also at work in South Africa, Uganda, Brazil, the United States, and numerous other nations. Family Camp Canoes

Cabins and Housing

Groups and families will be housed in cabins. One or two-night individual guests will be house in cabins or in the barn depending upon space availability.

Options & Costs:

  1. Reserve your own cabin for family
  2. Share a cabin with other family
  3. Just Fri-Sun, 11am-11am

Fourth of July Family Week

Overview of Program

  • Tuesday arrival (anytime after 1:30 PM) Swim in the lake (with Red Cross certified instructors)

  • Wednesday:Climb a Mountain (treks organized up Mount Kearsarge and Bog Mountain)

  • Thursday:Participate in Family Fun and Games

  • Friday:Enjoy an Olde Fashioned 4th of July - with our hosts the town ofn Andover; Special series on “Faith and Global Citizenship“ begins with Bob and Alice Evans; Evening Fireworks in Andover

  • Saturday:Special series conginues on “Faith and Global Citizenship“ with Bob and Alice Evans; ends with worship and lunch

Child care will be available at selected peroids during the day. Be sure to register the names and ages of any children accompanying you so that the schedule can be arranged.
